Dopo cinque stagioni in continua crescita, agonistica e di pubblico, il FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) si è senza dubbio affermato come il campionato più importante del pianeta per le vetture GT e per i prototipi. Lo dimostra anche la titolazione mondiale che la FIA ha assegnato a questa competizione.
L’appuntamento più importante del WEC è la leggendaria 24 Ore di Le Mans, la gara più importante e conosciuta al mondo.
Gli altri otto eventi del mondiale si svolgono in Europa (Silverstone, Spa), America (Messico e Texas), Asia (Giappone, Cina, Bahrain) con gare endurance di sei ciascuna.
Quattro le categorie che animano il campionato: LMGTE Pro, LMGTE Am, LMP1 e LMP2.
FIA WEC
Following five seasons of incredible competition and growth, the FIA World Endurance Championship has matured as the world’s most entertaining and respected motor sport series for GT cars and prototypes. The World title are the demonstration of the previous words and the best achievement for drivers, brands and teams.
The “king” event is the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, the most important and well-know race in the world.
The other eight rounds of the world championship are in Europe (Silverstone and Spa), America (Mexico and Texas), Asia (Japan, China, Bahrain) with six-hour races.
Four categories in competition: LMGTE Pro, LMGTE Am, LMP1 and LMP2
European Le Mans Series
Gare da quattro ore, organizzate in alcuni dei circuiti simbolo del Vecchio Continente quali Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Red Bull Ring, Le Castellet, Portimao. L’European Le Mans Series occupa un ruolo da protagonista nelle competizioni di massimo livello, cercando di unire un alto tasso di agonismo al controllo dei costi generali per case e team.
A chi vince l’European Le Mans Series viene riservato un posto alla 24 Ore di Le Mans, nella stagione successiva. Di fatto, questo campionato rappresenta è il preludio del FIA World Endurance Championship.
European Le Mans Series
The European Le Mans Series is composed of four-hour races running in symbolic tracks of Europe as Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Red Bull Ring, Le Castellet, Portimao. The continental championsip is an absolute protagonist in the best competitions while keeping tight control of the costs associated for brand and Team.
Also the champions will be offered a place on the grid in the 24 Heures du Mans in the following year, which gives an extra, important dimension to the title race across the categories. De facto, the European Le Mans Series is the step before the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Blancpain GT Series
Blancpain GT Series è composta da dieci gare, divise tra i l’Endurance Cup e la Sprint Cup. In entrambi i campionati, gareggiano soltanto vetture GT3, suddivise in diverse categorie a seconda dell’esperienza e della professionalità dei piloti.
Il campionato endurance ruota intorno alla 24 ore di Spa, la gara regina in calendario con la sua storia quasi secolare. Gli altri quattro round – ognuno dei quali prevede gare di tre ore – sono a Monza, Silverstone, Le Castellet e Barcellona.
Per quanto riguarda la Sprint Cup, le cinque gare che compongono il campionato durano 60 minuti e si corrono tra Misano, Brands Hatch, Zolder, Budapest e Nuerbugring. Negli stessi fine settimana della Sprint Cup, ci sono anche le gare di un terzo campionato della famiglia Blancpain GT Series, ribattezzato GT Sports Club: si tratta di una competizione con gare da 40 minuti, adatta ai piloti che si stanno approcciando al motorsport internazionale.
Blancpain GT Series
The Blancpain GT Series runs over 10 events with 5 Endurance Cup and 5 Sprint Cup races. Both championships are mainly reserved for GT3 cars, applying the principles of the driver categorisation depending on experience and professionalism of the drivers.
The Blancpain Endurance Cup has five events centred around the Total 24 Hours of Spa, the most important race in calendar thanks to its almost centuries-old history. The other four rounds have a formats of three hours in Monza, Silverstone, Le Castellet, Barcellona.
The Sprint Cup is composed of five races of 60 minutes among the tracks in Misano, Brands Hatch, Zolder, Budapest and Nuerbugring.
In the same weekend of the Sprint Cup races there also the events of the GT Sport Club that is another competition with 40-minute races dedicated to the driver who are gradually approaching the international motorsport.
GT Open
Nella sua dodicesima stagione, quella del 2017, il GT Open International si conferma come un palcoscenico europeo di prestigio per le GT e per i piloti Pro-Am.
L’altissimo livello delle GT3 impegnate nel campionato va di pari passo con i famosi circuiti in cui le sfide prendono corpo: Estoril, Spa, Le Castellet, Hungaroring, Silverstone, Monza, Barcellona. Sette appuntamenti che sono anticipati dalla Winter Series: due gare (Barcellona e Le Castellet) che di fatto aprono la stagione.
GT Open
In 2017, the international GT Open runs its 12th season, confirming itself as one of the top pro-am racing platforms in Europe.
The high level of the GT3s engaged in championship goes at the same pace with all legendary circuits where the challenges become facts: Estoril, Spa, Le Castellet, Hungaroring, Silverstone, Monza, Barcelona. Seven rounds with their prelude in the Winter Series which open the season with its two races (Barcelona and Le Castellet).
